Care and nurturing of the young is the best way to impart high quality values, morals, discipline, communication, and logic which can then be applied to a successful life. I have taught and cared for young people for over 40 years. I began babysitting my brother when I was only five years old and started babysitting for pay in my neighborhood when I was 12. At 16, I was a church camp counselor, youth missions participant, and later a Sunday school teacher. At 24, I gave birth to my son. I read every parenting book available at the time, but it all seem to come naturally. I went on to coach him in four sports, Cub Scouts, and many other activities. I also homeschooled my son from 4th to 12th grade. I tutored him throughout his college years, which he graduated with honors. He works in his career field and Read more has been happily married for two years. In addition to work with my son, I have taught youth swim lessons and been a lifeguard at the YMCA and other fitness facilities. I also taught adult yoga, spinning, and aerobics. I was a substitute teacher in Pennsylvania and Texas at all grade levels; and a supplemental instructor and tutor, and proctor at my undergrad university. I primarily taught a variety of geologic and environmental subject matters. I attained CPR, first aid, and rescue skills at a professional level; I’m happy to get recertified. As part of my college education, I have high-level environmental, health, and safety training. I drove the largest school bus made [for two years] and multiple shuttles for the geology department while in college, as well as private limousines and festival shuttle vans in Texas. I transported my son his whole life without incident. As a semi-retired person, I am able to fit some rideshare driving in between my professional as well as avocational bookings. One of the awards that I have received which I highly value was being honored as the Company Family Support Coordinator for a Recruiter Company in the Pittsburgh Battalion, US Army, as well as in the 3rd US Infantry Company in the MDW. I’m confident in my ability to guide, teach, protect, and entertain. I enjoy the smiles of happy children and receive immeasurable satisfaction from “seeing the lightbulb come on.” It sounds like a lot, but more often than not, my skills and experience are similar to the experience of many wise-elder women. We have much to share.
