I grew up with 2 siblings and am the oldest cousin of 13, all ranging from 7 months to 18 years old. My mom describes me as very “motherly”. I started babysitting at 15 and treat every kid how I’d want my family to be treated, and also as they’re own individual self. I have experience with down syndrome children, and also have experience tutoring. I’m proud to say I’m a psychology major at Texas Tech University! I have been in 3 separate children psych classes, which I feel gives me extra knowledge on just the overall understanding and well-being of kids. I’m finishing up my 3rd year, and then after graduation I hope to start pursuing a career in social services, working with children. I’ve always been very mature for my age, but that does not stop me from asking my little sister (she’s 18 now, even though we Read more asked her to stop growing when she was 8 🤦🏻‍♀️) to play mermaids with me during summer and make mud pies outside. I enjoy painting and being outside. My friends call me “mom” when we go out, because I’m always prepped with snacks and several game plans for when they get bored. Being a psychology major has really made me appreciate the small things in life. The infant-teenage years are so critical in building who we will be as adults, and I just hope to add positivity in kids’ character, and hopefully be an extra person they can lean on in the future. I’m a very independent and content individual. I think it’s important for kids to find their own independence and build character with a helping hand.
