I was a nanny in my teens during the summer along with occasionally babysitting during the school year. As I got older, my passion for being a caregiver lead me to work in the mental health field for several years taking patient care technician courses and working with adults and geriatrics with behavioral disorders and substance abuse history. I learned to assist with ADLs while being encouraging and compassionate, listen to their needs and just listen to what they have to say while also keeping safety precautions as the top priority. I only left the caregiving field due to pay but with the expenses of a wedding coming up it’s the prefect opportunity to get back to something I’m truly passionate about. Although I do not have my own children yet, I have a beautiful niece I spend time with each week and my own fur babies that are often Read more referred to as spoiled.
