From 2018-2024, I was a nanny for two wonderful families. I nannied for children, newborn to school-aged. My duties included comprehensive newborn care, which included, health monitoring, administering medication, tracking feeding schedules, sleep patterns, and developmental milestones. I assisted with daily school drop-offs/pick-ups. Planned and supervised, engaging and age-appropriate activities, that promoted learning and cognitive development. I also managed and prepared daily meals for the children. I was an assistant teacher for St. John’s Methodist school from 2013-2017. I educated children on a weekly basis, in a classroom setting and taught educational skills and strategies through artwork, manipulatives, and book reading. I regularly created curriculum that introduced children to themes like, the solar system, the human body, nocturnal animals, seasons of the year, sight words, reading, mathematics, etc. Not only do I enjoy teaching and caring for children, I learn from them as well. While April was interactive and did a good job engaging with our children, helping them learn and play creatively, our experience with her ended on a very disappointing note. We treated her like family, trusted her fully with our children, and invested time to build a positive relationship. Unfortunately, she abruptly quit without any face-to-face conversation or formal notice, leaving us with a text message and our son’s car seat left on our front porch. This unprofessional and sudden departure left us scrambling for childcare without warning. Although she demonstrated good skills with the kids, her way of leaving was unprofessional and hurtful, and we would urge future families to be cautious.

April was a nanny for our two daughters for almost 4 years. She was a part of our lives during a very busy season, and we could not have done it without her. She cared for our youngest since she was a newborn, and she has truly become an extension of our family. Throughout the time April has worked for our family she has displayed excellent communication skills, organization skills, and dedication. April knows childcare and housekeeping work extremely well. She also has taught our girls so much (numbers, letters, and creativity). She has offered grace, patience, and discipline where necessary for our children. April's duties for our family included meal prepping (she is a wonderful cook), caring for our girls, taking the girls to and from school ect. If were not for us moving over an hour away, we would have loved to still have her with us. Our daughters will greatly miss her and I recommend her for any position in the future.
