Meet Thomaia

I was born and raised in Houston, TX. I come from a very warm community that is just as loving as it was some 25 years later. I was also raised in Massachusetts where I attended boarding school for 4 years. I have two degrees, a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Masters of Science in Biomedical Sciences, Cancer Biology. I'm currently taking a much needed break from medical school. My qualifications for childcare and house sitting consist of 2 summers of camp counseling at for 2 year olds-kindergarten-aged children and dog/housitting for their families. My summer camp counseling led to a teaching contract at an elementary/day school in Houston. This teaching position was offered because of my good rapport with parents and my fun and responsible care of the children. I taught a classroom of a dozen 2-3 year older at a Jewish day school. Lessons included cultural Read more education, building blocks of education like colors, everyday items, and life skills. I'm intentional in most aspects in life. I'm kind, fun-loving, and considerate. I'm on the medical path because I appreciate the responsibility of taking care of others. I'm also creative. I'm a writer, singer, dancer, and pianist, so I love thinking of fun ways to interact with children that go beyond screens. For example, for one family I baby-, house-, and dog-sat for, I would go on bike rides with their 2-year-old daughter in a carrier around a neighborhood park and we would sing Little Mermaid songs.
