Hello! My name is Sheila and I am a fully vaccinated 55 year old medical professional looking for an opportunity to help a young family with their occasional childcare needs. I am kind and compassionate and have learned that my greatest joy is found in giving and being of service to others. In infant childcare settings, I am the one my co-workers go to for help calming and soothing the little ones when they are most upset or overly tired. I love children and grew up babysitting for several families in my neighborhood, caring of one family with 4 children for more than 6 years. In my adult life, my infant/toddler childcare experience has mostly been in my church nurseries and in caring of my two nieces and the children of several close family friends. Sheila is a life saver and an absolute blessing to our family. We set up an initial “get to know you” visit before my 2.5 year old stayed with her for the first time. That first visit she came up with a creative way to connect with our son and he took to her right away. He can be a challenge and she handles him very appropriately. She picks him up from daycare and even takes him to swim lessons. She is involved and engaged during her time with him. She gives me detailed information about his time with her. (His eating habits, whether he was especially tired, she tells me about the cute things he says and does while I’m away, which I love) She has picked him up on short notice and communicates very well. We now have a newborn in the mix and Sheila has been great with him as well. She is thoughtful, dependable, and I feel blessed to have Sheila in our trusted childcare circle!
