I am a Science master’s graduate student aspiring to be in healthcare as a PA-C. I find working with children as a good excuse to be playful and have a good laugh which is one of the things I enjoy the most about working with children. I volunteered as a first aid nurse for a Childrens camp at Solid Rock Camps in the summer of 2021. I also volunteered at one local children’s hospital in Dallas, in the hospital playroom watching children play if they came to the playroom unaccompanied. I engaged the children in different arts and crafts during this volunteer role such as sand art, coloring and making bracelets, just to name a few. Despite changing locations, I plan to continue volunteering with children, this time at Baylor Scott and White starting Spring 2025. A big part of my upbringing involved me taking care of my twin siblings Read more ever since they were babies until elementary school. Part of what I did for them as infants included cleaning them after they messed up their diapers, feeding them and putting them to sleep. I would also check on them from time to time, to make sure they were sleeping properly. As they grew up, I would prepare food for them, play with them and assisted them with their homework. I generally enjoy having conversations with children and learning a thing or two from their positivity and playfulness. Prior to the completion of my Pre-medicine Bachelor’s degree, I occasionally took care of some families and their children when I was not studying or tutoring. I tutored Chemistry and Physics during my undergraduate. I have first aid training and an infant/child and adult BLS certification. Basically, I would like to be a source of support and strength for those parents who are swamped with supporting their children and building their family’s legacy.
