My name is Daniel Rodríguez. This is a little about myself: I am Costa Rican, I studied at the National University of Costa Rica which is one of the top universities in CR, and I specialized in teaching all levels of education. The “humanist” approach is my preferred model of education. This approach focuses on the comprehensive development of students; that is why the quality of this process is decisive in how the personal and social development of students is incorporated; it emphasizes the progress of socio-emotional skills. This model of education prioritizes and discovers the potential to promote the personal identity of each student. It stresses the importance of self-awareness. These traits allow the individual to better understand their strengths and weaknesses. Due to my educational and professional experience, I would like to highlight that my training was very comprehensive because I was not only trained as a general Read more teacher but also in special education with an emphasis on integration; moreover, I received a master's degree in administration of educational centers in both public and private sectors. Every year, I get trained in subjects like reading, writing methods, the use of English as a second language, and techniques to work with students with behavioral problems such as autism and Down syndrome, among other disabilities. My country may be very small, but it is culturally diverse. I currently have 13 years of experience in public education. When I started, I worked on the border between Costa Rica and Nicaragua for 2 years. This experience not only made me grow professionally but also helped me understand cultural diversity, an aspect that enriched me greatly. I have worked in rural and urban schools in different areas of behavioral support and intellectual disabilities. Most of my experience has been devoted to learning difficulties, which mainly consists in reinforcing the areas of Spanish, English, and mathematics in the school population of all levels of elementary and High School education.
