Hello, I'm Anjelica, and it's a pleasure to meet you! I graduated in 2020 with a degree in special education and have been working with people who have special needs since I was 13 years old. Growing up with a deaf brother gave me the opportunity to learn American Sign Language, which has been an invaluable skill in my work. During middle school, I volunteered with an organization called "Me in the Middle," where I participated in various events, such as the Special Needs Olympics, and realized that working with people who have special needs was my calling. I even served as the president of the club in high school for two years! Throughout my college career, I worked as a behavioral technician and helped children with autism and related disorders improve their behaviors and social skills while collecting data. After graduating, I spent a year working as a special education teacher, focusing on children with behavioral issues. In this role, I provided one-on-one lessons and worked on social skills with them. I've also worked with adults in a facility for people with special needs, teaching them skills like how to shop and use transportation. Now, with summer approaching, I'm excited to find a part-time job and build new relationships. I promise we'll have a lot of fun together!
