My name is Emily, and I am currently a 4th-year graduate student enrolled at Vanderbilt School of Medicine, pursuing my doctoral degree in pediatric audiology (Au.D.). A New England native before relocating to Nashville, I recently graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Connecticut Honors Program in May 2015, as a double major in Speech, Language, and Hearing Sciences and Psychology. Outside of VUMC academic and research commitments, I presently serve as a live-in Head Resident Advisor (i.e., professional Residential Education Leadership Dept. staff member) on Vanderbilt's undergraduate campus. Alongside clinical externship duties and regular class engagements, I hold a part-time position as an Audiology Newborn Hearing Screener at VU Children's Hospital (such a rewarding opportunity!). (From supervising smaller families of 1-6 siblings to large birthday gatherings of 20+ youngsters to instructing recreational youth summer camp programs, weekly gymnastics/swimming classes, and inclusive/special needs group lessons.) As an enthusiastic, compassionate, and responsible babysitter, I exert every effort to ensure that all children in my charge feel safe, valued, and loved.
