Hi I am Charly! I am a current undergraduate student at Vanderbilt University studying Special Education and Child Development. I have served as a Camp Counselor for Children's Association For Maximum Potential in Texas and participated in a 6 day/ 5 night summer session for children/adults with special needs. There, I assisted with the camper's needs including hygiene care, behavior management and physical activities. I have also participated in over 20 Special Olympics Games as an Athlete Buddy/ Volunteer, buddying with special needs students (under the age of 15) and assisting in hygienic needs and behavior management while encouraging student’s performance. My most significant source of hands-on experience with children has come from my 5 years of babysitting. I currently babysit for several families in the Nashville area, all of whom have children with special needs such as Down syndrome, behavioral disorders, ASD, and ADHD.
