I have a wide variety of background experience working with children. First and foremost, I have two children of my own, ages 11 and 9. I babysat regularly as a teenager. My career path lead me to working with young children and then teenagers who are at risk. I then worked for an organization where I matched families who have children with special needs with respite workers to provide a break for them. I loved that job very much, but resigned to stay home with my own kids when they were small. When my kids became school age, I again found myself working with children again. I have been employed by a local elementary school since 2009 as an assistant, reading instructor, and most recently in the special education pre-k the school offers.
