Hi! My name is Karyssa. I’m 32 years old and the mama of 2 awesome kiddos. My son is 7 and my daughter is almost 5. I homeschool, love the outdoors and I am passionate about caring for children. I was a SAHM and a military wife for almost 7 years. So I thrive in a routine and organized environment. As the oldest of 8 children, I’ve always had an innate sense of responsibility and protectiveness over little ones. My 2 youngest siblings are almost the same age my children! Also, I essentially raised my 27&26 year old sister and brother since I was about 14/15. So I’ve been taking care of children for a long time! My father retired as a captain in the fire department. He was also part of the EMS, First Aid, and Search & Rescue & Dive team. As the daughter of a firefighter, I’m Read more trained in CPR and First Aid. However, I am not certified but am willing to become certified to ease the fear/anxiety of any parents! My children and I love the outdoors! But let’s be real, with this SC heat, I’d prefer to be outdoors near a body of water. I’m not lifeguard certified but I am an exceptional swimmer. Again, I’m willing to go through certifications if it will put parents at ease. I am a lover of all sports. I’ve played most of them but my true love was soccer for 16 years. I coached middle school teams for 3 years and private lessons for about 3 years as well. I am willing to help with errands, after school activities, meal prepping, light house cleaning, schoolwork, packing/unpacking, even traveling, in addition to caring for your child/ren. I have been traveling with both of my children since they were infants. Trips varied from planes to multi-state car rides, most times I was alone. So I’m well versed in the “traveling with a child/ren” category. Currently I’m still a SAHM and work from home. My ex-husband and I have a great co-parenting relationship, with joint custody of our children. They spend equal time at both houses every week. My children would have to be present during the weeks that they are with me. However, they are extremely helpful, eager to serve, are well disciplined, and very respectful. I’m open to discussing schedules and rates as well! While I truly enjoy my job as a Life Insurance Agent, I want to step into the true calling that God has for my life; to care for and pour love into children.
