Hello! My name is Gemma Pohl. I was born in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. I speak fluent German and am a German/American dual citizen and have spent many years traveling throughout Europe with my family. I am an honor student at the University of New Hampshire as a bio-medical major on the pre-vet track. I started babysitting at 13, first with neighbors and friends and later with other local families with children of varying ages. I began volunteering at special needs events in high school, including Special Olympics, dances, and bowling. I also was an MC3 Aftercare Volunteer at New Franklin School, responsible for keeping the children engaged in activities until their parents picked them up. To satisfy my combined love for animals and child care, I volunteered at a petting zoo at the Stone Zoo in Boston to teach children about animals and how to treat them with respect. I Read more also am a certified lifeguard with CPR and First Aid training. I have been responsible for the Safety of many camp children at the pool. I moved to South Florida to complete a semester away at Florida International University and now am staying to participate in an internship at the South Florida Wildlife Center, caring for a multitude of species and assisting technicians in the clinic. I am very trustworthy, intelligent and energetic. I enjoy playing outside and teaching children about animals and the environment. I love doing arts and crafts, baking, dancing, playing board games, reading books, and playing pretend. The children’s safety is my top priority, and my extensive training and experience will ensure their well-being.
