Hello, my name is Ellen.  I am seeking a part or full time nanny/babysitting position.  I have a great deal of experience.  In addition to babysitting, I am also an experienced special education teacher.  I retired in January 2012, but taught for more than 20 years.  In this capacity, I probably encountered every possible scenario.  I currently nanny on as as needed basis for a couple of families.  I began babysitting when I was a teenager.  More recently, I have spent a lot of time as a frequent sitter to my neice and nephew, ages 8 and 11.   In this capacity, I would get them ready for school, prepare meals, assist with homework, transport them to activities and basically fill in for their parents when they couldn't be there.  My flexible, work schedule  provided me an opportunity to be a part of their lives since they were babies.    Lastly, I was a foster parent for 5 Read more years.  I cared for children, of all ages, in my home for various amounts of time.  This was a great experience.  I learned to always be prepared because social services could call with an emergency placement any time during the day or night.  I am still in contact with some of these children. I'm certified in CPR/First Aid.
