Hi! My name is Brooke, and I’m from and continue to reside in Nazareth. I’m looking forward to being of help to families who could use an extra set of hands due to work schedules or changing dynamics brought on by the pandemic. I personally have begun working remotely over the past year, so a lot of my time has been freed up. I currently work for a family-owned printing company right outside of Phillipsburg, but I do most of my work from my laptop. After getting my degree in Biobehavioral Health, I worked with kids in behavioral rehabilitation roles through two organizations in the Lehigh Valley. There, I led social skills groups for preschool and elementary aged children, and served as a one-on-one aide during those groups as needed. At the same time, I trained to become a TSS/BHT. I held regular sessions with youth on the autism spectrum Read more and their families/caregivers. My purpose was to teach behavioral modification strategies and build skills so that clients’ could reach their treatment goals. I had a set number of hours per week that I spent with each child in their home, school, daycare, community, or a combination thereof. I loved building a connection with each of them, and their families. As a result, I also ended up becoming close with the parents, siblings, teachers, etc of the kids I worked with over time. While we were focused on building skills and tracking progress and submitting weekly documentation of services and outcomes, none of that would have been possible without making their therapy fun for the kids. I learned how to build good rapport with each of them, and provide positive reinforcement. I enjoyed learning about each child and tailoring my approach to be the best fit for each one. Because of this work, I received training in First Aid, CPR, Applied Behavior Analysis, and various ongoing trainings related to behavioral intervention strategies. I had background checks completed on a continued basis, and I completed PA’s mandated reporter training. Ultimately, while my new job is great, I now have a flexible schedule and I think that getting back to working with kids would be a great fit for me during this time. I really enjoy cooking, I’m patient and up for tutoring, and would be more than happy to find out you have pets at home! Also, I’m attentive and always willing to partake in games and activities that are fun for your son(s) and/or daughter(s). I’m available to talk more and answer any questions you may have!
