Hello! I’m 22 years old and currently working towards earning a bachelors degree in special education, elementary education and Spanish. From a young age, I knew I wanted to work with children. Being one of the oldest children in the family, I had the opportunity to watch and help raise my younger siblings and cousins. Through that experience, I gained knowledge on working with different age groups and disabilities including ASD, dyslexia and ADHD. Recently, I was a mentor at Boys and Girls Club of America for 2 years. The ages I worked with in the program ranged from 5 to 12 years old. Due to my major, I receive a numerous amount of opportunities to visit different schools, grades and classrooms. Last fall I spent 4 months teaching core subjects in a first grade classroom. I have experience working with children who are blind/low vision and children who are Read more on the autism spectrum. I’m comfortable working with any age range. I like to play, use creative play, use our imaginations, be active, read, and have fun with children. I’ve taken many college courses in which I’ve learned about child development and learning. I enjoy seeing children in educational and non-educational settings. Just like children learn from us, we learn a lot from children as well. When I’m not in school I like to be apart of volunteer projects working with the elderly, homeless, children and special needs. I am certified in CPR and First Aid. Additionally, I’m fully vaccinated. I currently work as a nanny for a local agency but decided to join SitterCity to meet new families. As a caretaker, I value safety and building relationships with not just the child/ren, but with the family as well. Looking after children is not just a job to me, it is what I love doing.
