With experience in being a child-care volunteer (coaching and babysitting), I had decided to take my skills to the professional level and worked as a Day Care Teaching Assistant. I had the pleasure of working with infants and toddlers between the ages of 1-3. My favorite part of working with children was teaching them new skills (puzzles, letters, numbers) and providing them with hands on experiences that allowed them to learn and have fun (crafts, athletics). My experience as a childcare provider in a professional setting has equipped me with skills in lesson planning, communicating (both with children and parents, responsibility, meal prepping, activity creating, cleaning and sanitation, and more. The role has also allowed me to take care of multiple children at once, as our ratio is 5 children to 1 adult. I have all my clearances (through Pennsylvania) and have certifications of childcare education through a Penn State Read more program. I am also an active learner and am open to obtaining any type of education/certification that you feel is necessary in a timely manner. Alongside this experience, I am currently in pursuit of a degree in Psychology. I have intentions of pursuing a career in child and adolescent therapy, either through the criminal justice setting or school setting. Managing school work and a job has taught me essential skills of time management that allow me to be a better childcare provider. I am currently working at a bakery but dearly miss working with children and am looking for the opportunity to teach your kiddos compassion, life skills, and most importantly, how to have fun! Children are the future of our world and I take great pride in having the opportunity to impact them in some way, as they all have an impact on me. It is a job I take very seriously and do with great passion.
