I am a grandmother who raised three children. I have five grandchildren from my children and four adopted. I am a local artist. I love to read to children and have them do an art project of some sort to go with the story. I make playdoh and silly putty and fun crafts with children. We spray paint the snow in the winter. I love to take children on nature walks and teach them about the birds and what they eat where they live etc. We collect leaves in the fall and make art pictures with them. Doing art really helps to build childrens self esteem. If they need disciplined I usually go with what the parents want, the way they usually correct their children. To keep things fair if I have more than one child, I let one fix things and the other to choose first. I can use Read more time out if the child is really unruly but I do not think if you really listen and take the time with children that they need to be corrected to often. Children do things just to get attention. I have worked in the corporate world for a lot of my life but I would love to go back to watching children. As a grandmother I love all babies and children they are just so precious and sweet. I love how they react to learning and life. The things they say are so special to. I am experienced with watching children, I love children and I have lots of fun with them and keep them busy. I now have more recent experience with being a nanny to Autistic twins, a little girl whom I was potty training and now a 6mo old little boy and a 2 1/2 yr old who I am potty training. They use cloth diapers and expressed breast milk. The little girl twin had copd also. There were many challenges with the twins but they were the sweetest loving children you would ever want to meet.
