Hello, my name is Melissa Jan. In the past year, I have reactivated a former career in childcare services as a nanny. Many years ago I had an in-home daycare called Nanny's Childcare Services. My first priority is safety! I am a former first responder with the American Red Cross and was considered essential staff. I have AHA CPR, First Aid, and AED certifications for adults, children, and infants. I have worked with children of all ages throughout my career. The second most important thing to me is education. I believe learning should be fun! Most recently, I worked as an instructor for CareerLink for seven years. As part of that, I taught 9th-12th grades in the youth program. On weekends for three years, I taught English as a Second Language (ESL) to children in China starting at age 3. I graduated with distinction and received a TESOL certificate to Read more be qualified to teach ESL. Those positions ended with the pandemic and contract losses. I can give you a letter of recommendation from the CEO of my previous employer in Chambersburg, to show my work ethic. I can teach Samantha her early childhood learning milestones. What could be more fun than learning colors, shapes, hand coordination, letters, and numbers, storytime, singing, dancing, blowing bubbles, making things with playdough, coloring, and getting sunshine and fresh air? Although I am not a big fan of TV, I admit I love Miss Rachel and Peppa Pig. I find they are a hit with the little ones. While keeping the days full of fun and joy, I am neat, tidy, and very good about following the parents' schedule for meals, snacks, potty/diaper changes, and naps. For reference, I also have an AA degree in Liberal Studies and a BS degree in Natural Sciences with a minor in Business from Wilson College. I was born and raised in Chambersburg, but I have lived in Carlisle and Mechanicsburg, PA. I am healthy, take no medication, and do not smoke or drink. I have a clean driving record, a valid driver's license, own my car, and can pass any required background checks and drug screens you may desire. In addition, if you have pets, I have been involved in animal rescue and care for over 20 years and I am very comfortable with a variety of critters, should they need care throughout the day. Please reach out if you think I would be a good fit for your daughter. I welcome the opportunity to meet with you in the hopes of becoming Samantha's nanny. Thank you for your consideration.
Trust & safety
We encourage parents to conduct their own screenings using the background check tools. See what each of the badges covered, or learn more about keeping your family safe by visiting the Trust & Safety Center.
