I have worked as a childcare provider and skills trainer for over 14 years. I currently work as a graphic designer and am looking for opportunities to work with kids again and be more active than my new desk job allows. I am comfortable with large groups of kids and can build relationships with children very quickly. Most of my experience is with children aged 3-12. I have a Bachelor's degree in Psychology and Women's Studies and worked in both community-based and inpatient youth mental health for 14 years. I was trained in Collaborative Problem Solving and the Sanctuary Model of Care. I babysat through care.com from 2010 to 2016, providing last-minute, one-time, and recurring childcare for multiple families. I am looking to work 2-16 hours a week. I mostly have weekend availability but can also work evenings after 3:30 pm. I am also an illustrator and crafter and have Read more a lot of experience planning creative activities for kids. Television and video games are not usually an option for entertaining children where I have worked, so I have a long list of active and mellow activities to fall back on for children with difficulty engaging in activities independently. I'm a big fan of outside play time, especially soccer and gymnastics (attempting somersaults, cartwheels, handstands, etc). The primary benefit of hanging out with kids is that they get you out of your head and keep you active and engaged in the world around you.
