I'm a recent Art MFA graduate from Mills College (May 2021). Prior to pursuing my graduate degree, I lived in Minnesota for eight years, where I obtained my B.A. in Art and Environmental Studies from Macalester College (2015). Three of the four years prior to graduate school, I taught as a preschool teacher. From 2015-2016 I worked as the lead teacher in a classroom of 2-5 year olds. From 2017-2019, I worked as an assistant teacher at a therapeutic preschool, for children with trauma. There, I taught 3-5 year olds in a structured therapeutic setting. I worked with ESL students, and students with diverse-learning styles including kids with ADD, autism, and sensory processing disorder. I have been babysitting/nannying since I was 12, and have experience working with kids of all ages. I have worked as a regularly scheduled nanny, worked for families for date nights, and done regularly scheduled after-school Read more pick-ups. I have strong reading, writing, and math skills, and can tutor. I lead taught Summer Zoo Camp at the Woodland Park Zoo 2014-15 in Seattle, and at Como Park Zoo & Conservatory Summer 2013. I worked as a camp counselor at a community center day camp Summer 2012. I have extensive experience with environmental and outdoors education, and arts education. I'm also very physically active, and love to play sports with kids! I was continuously CPR and First-Aid certified from 2005-2019. My certifications have lapsed due to Covid, but I would be happy to get certified again ASAP.
