Why do you love being a sitter? I love spending time with kids and helping them grow and learn. Seeing them smile and be happy means the most to me. I know how important it is for kids to have someone patient, kind, and fun around them, and I really enjoy being that person. I’ve always had a natural connection with kids, and I love creating a safe and positive environment for them. What experience do you have? I’ve been babysitting back home in Hawaii for three years before heading off to college, and I’ve also taken care of a lot of my baby cousins, as well as my teenage cousins. I have over 20 younger cousins, so I know how much work and responsibility goes into taking care of kids of all ages. I’m currently a junior at Southern Oregon University majoring in Health and Exercise Science, and I’m also part of the women’s wrestling team. Through my major, I’ve taken multiple health-related courses, including first aid and safety, and I’m CPR certified. I can also speak some Spanish and have a pretty solid understanding of medical terminology, which can be helpful in certain situations. On top of that, being a student-athlete has helped me develop patience, discipline, and time management—skills that I think are really valuable when it comes to babysitting.
