Hello! I have over 15 years of child care experience. I'm passionate about the outdoors, hiking, art, yoga and photography. I find it rewarding to expose children to healthy learning environments. I believe each child is their own person who needs a loving, safe and encouraging environment to develop socially, academically, physically and emotionally. I truly enjoy being a person they can count on. Over the years, I have had tremendous interactions with children. I have a number of certifications from Wilderness First Responder to a 20 HR Teaching Kids Yoga Certification. Most recently, I have been a substitute teacher in the local school district the past 5 school years. I have subbed at the elementary schools but I spend most of my time at the high school. I have several long-term substitute positions during my time at the high school. I believe I make standing impressions on the students I encounter. For the past 8 years I have spent my summers at a summer camp for boys, as an Outdoor Wilderness Instructor leading wilderness trips. I took children from 8-15 years of age on wilderness trips to experience the “ahh and wonders” of the outdoors. There is something about being in nature that helps instill patience and responsibility as well! Previous to Outdoor Wilderness Instructing, while attending Ohio University, for 3 academic schools years I was Homework Coordinator at the local elementary school. As Homework Coordinator I served unserved and at-risk students with academic, nutritional and recreational opportunities. I developed and maintained positive relationships with students while providing a safe environment. During my experiences as a child care provider in different work environments I have developed the skills needed to become an enthusiastic employee and the ability to go above and beyond your expectations.
