Hello! I have been living in Columbus the last 3 years. I am looking for opportunities that will allow me to grow as a person. I've always loved helping others. Watching children learn and grow into their own person has been a passion since I first started babysitting when I was a teen. Since then I have worked at a Military youth center in Montana for 1 year. I have also worked at a Prep school for 2 years in Texas working with children from pre-school to 6th grade. I dearly miss many of the kids that I have taken under my wing. I was glad I could be there for them and be a pillar of support when needed. I hope to extend and provide that same care and support that all children need in their lives. I am proficient in situational awareness. I am required at my current Read more job to be certified in First Aid & CPR each year. I am comfortable with daily household chores as needed. Pets are never an issue as I have two cats of my own and grew up with dogs. I am happy to drive and use a booster seat in my car. I have 3 nephews so taking care of a child's every need is no difficulty for me. Having worked with children for more than 3 years, I have gained a greater understanding of emotional intelligence. As a child's emotions are sometimes difficult to decipher and understand, I feel it is best to talk it out with them to get them to calm down and tell us what they need. It is okay to feel emotions, process them and let them go. Children are still learning and understanding the world around them. So it is imperative that we listen and try to help them understand that feelings are normal and they can let them out in a positive way.
