My name is Matthew and I teach Pre-Kindergarten during the day. I have nine years of paid experience ranging from working in daycares (preschool and school-age classes,) private nannying, and now teaching Pre-K. I am looking to babysit not only for a little extra income, but because I enjoy getting to have an impact in young children's lives, especially outside of the high-pressure, often-intense Pre-K setting. I focus heavily on emotion regulation and transparency and believe strongly in adapting to each child's specific needs. I am able to adapt to each child by trying to figure out what domains they favor in terms of their learning and exploration, and then finding ways to help them learn through ways they will enjoy. I am able to provide ways to build muscle strength, fine motor skills, and coordination through art and play; these skills and can then be utilized when beginning to Read more do things such as write letters and numbers. I try to be the teacher and role model that I always needed when I was young, and I want each child to know that while they are in my care, they matter, have a voice, are welcome to be creative and expressive, I care about how they feel and am there to talk to them about all of it, and above all they are safe!
