Hi, my name is Cassie. I am the oldest of three children. My siblings are five and three so from my 14th birthday, I have been helping care for both of them. I have a lot of hands on newborn infant experience as my youngest sibling was born when I was 17 and my parents joked that I was junior mom because of how much I helped them with her. I love children and I have been babysitting for other families since my 15th birthday. I’m currently a dual early childhood development/ theater major at a local college. I’m hoping to eventually go on to social work or one of the other helping professions and once there I would like to combine my love of theater and the arts with therapy and work in play based therapy. I love animals. We have a King Charles Cavalier and a 130 lb Read more German Shepard (large dogs do not bother me). I enjoy art and painting. I love crafts and baking. I can cook and am continuing to practice to become better in the kitchen. Being part of a family of five, I know my way around vacuum cleaner, I know how to do laundry, I know how to clean some pretty scary stains out of the living room carpet. Two of the families that I babysit for have children that are not Neurotypical. One is on the autism spectrum, the other two both have ADHD as well as additional challenges. I would say the best thing about me is that I’m patient. I understand that kids are not carbon copies of each other and every child is going to be different. I am happy to celebrate the differences of every child.
