I’m currently a full-time student who recently went back to school to become a licensed clinical social worker. I’m currently a junior finishing my undergraduate degree in psychology at Mount Saint Mary College and am looking for some part-time work while I finish my degree. Developmental psychology is a particular area of interest for me, and I think it’s imperative to have an understanding of how little ones learn and understand their environment at every developmental stage in order to give them the best tools to grow and thrive and become happy and healthy adults. I have always been passionate about working with children and those who need care. I started providing childcare in my teens for nearby families and became a camp counselor in the summers, and these early experiences only solidified my love for working with and helping others. In addition to being a sitter, I have held Read more positions as a direct care staff in two different residential facilities for the nonprofit organization Crystal Run Village, caring for both older adults with physical and intellectual disabilities and for young men with autism. I have also worked as a classroom aide at the Brookeside school, a preschool that caters to children with special needs. These positions have all instilled a great deal of patience in me. In addition to direct care experience, I have also been the housekeeper for two Airbnb properties so I am happy to help with any housework, as well. Lastly, on top of my work experience with children, I also have a 14-year-old stepdaughter whom I have helped raise since she was just turning 2. Being a parent has been the ultimate lesson in being a childcare provider! Some of my other passions include music, reading, and arts and crafts. I think introducing creativity and curiosity through play are so important. In general, I’m a big believer in kids exploring the world in a tangible and tactile way that doesn’t involve screens or devices. If you have any questions for me, please don’t hesitate to ask. I look forward to meeting you and your family!
