Hi there! My name is Ali :) ABOUT ME: In 2016, I was awarded as Student of the Year my senior year of my Bachelors in Psychology & graduated Magna Cum Laude in the Honors Program and as a member of Psi Chi (Psych. National Honors Society) in Boston. Soon after, I moved back home to New York due to health reasons. I am a 2x stage 4 cancer survivor and am currently over 6.5 years cancer free. With that being said, I live my life accordingly; every day is a gift. SITTING STYLE: I am very fun, outgoing, adventurous, love the outdoors, love arts and crafts & find that children love anything that they can be creative with. During the winter time/holidays I love to do crafts that go with the theme of whichever holiday is closest & watch movies and board games, etc. when the weather for playing Read more outside isn’t cooperative. I believe children should explore new experiences, get exercise, and use their imagination as much as possible! I find that a snack and straight to homework when they arrive is a good method for me, so that they have the rest of tour time to look forward to fun! I make sure to not stray from their typical routine that you have set for them. Anything at all that I would do with them that differentiates from their routine, will always be cleared with you before. FAMILY: I have a nephew (11yrs.) and a niece (7yrs.) that I have aided in caring for since they were both born & have been there through every stage of development & have shown me what it means to truly be patient with children as well as taught unconditional love, the kindness of children, and have developed an ultimate importance of understanding that everything we do has an impression on them. EXPERIENCE: I have been a part-time babysitter/nanny for many years with all types of diverse families: children with *ADHD, gender dysphoria, depression/suicidal ideation, BiPolar disorder, high energy, shyness (and quite the contrary!) With that, I am able to remain calm in high stress situations. *CPR, Heimlich & first aid certified in children & dogs. PETS: I also have my own dog walking, pet sitting, check-ins, business: Your Pets New Pal. It began in Boston as my college summer job & when I moved back to NY I brought it with me! Therefore, if you have any pets you know they’re also in great hands. If you think we’d be a great fit, please reach out via email: yourpetsnewpal@gmail.com
