I'm Victoria Rossi and I have about 10 years of babysitting experience, a bachelor’s degree from Penn State in Human Development and Family Studies, and I have experience working in the foster care system as well as experience working with people with developmental disabilities! Added bonus – as a part of my job I’m a CPR/First-Aid & AED instructor (for infants, children and adults) so I have an excellent working knowledge of how to handle any medical emergency. Since I was young, I have always enjoyed taking care of other people - animals, siblings, friends - you name it! In my early teens I began to babysit my younger cousins, and as I got older I would babysit or nanny for various families, continuing throughout college until I graduated! I'm really good with kids of all ages. I understand the importance of different interactions and approaches for different age groups, Read more and I have a good handle on how to do that! I'm super flexible and laid-back. With kids things can be unpredictable and life happens sometimes, so I just go with the flow. First and foremost I will always be respectful of and follow household rules - that's a hard line for me. When I'm babysitting, I generally won't just stick the kids in front of a TV and call it a day - I like to keep kids active and busy. That being said, there’s nothing wrong with an occasional movie day! I think that kids need a balance of structure and free time. When I "structured" time, I mean that I see what the kid likes to do, come up with activities or ideas on what to do until they find something they like, and then do it with them! I'm really creative and I try to make everything fun - arts and crafts, fort building, making up games, playing outside, going to new places - I have endless ideas to occupy time. I don’t mind cleaning or running errands. I love animals – I have a large dog at home so pets are great! I currently work full time at Anderson Center for Autism as a Staff Development Specialist (I train and support our staff)! Please feel free to ask any questions!
