I was fortunate to be able to follow my passion for educating and caring for young children and make it into a career. I have been caring for young children since I was 12 years old, babysitting in the neighborhood at first then this turned into summer full time job during college caring fornone of those neighborhood families full time. 6 children and then 7 and then 8 by the time I retired 🙂i did everything for these children, from 8 am to 5 am daily, driving them where they had to go, feeding, dressing them, playing with them etc. I was 15 when I started with them and 19 when I moved on. I used the skills and instincts I gathered in my teenage years and got my bachelors in Early Childhood Education. Used this training to be a lead teacher at some local childcare centers, an owner and Read more caregiver at my own New York State certified child care out of my home, an au pair for a family in the Netherlands, as being a professional nanny for multiple families locally. I substitute taught at Webster Central Schools for many years. I am trained in the Montessori theories of teaching and was the lead teacher for the toddler classroom at the Webster Montessori school for a couple of years. I was a substitute teacher for Webster schools for years teaching kindergarten through 12th grade. I have also pursued my passion for women and the process of having babies. I completed my certification to be a postpartum Doula through DONA and I am also a certified lactation consultant. You can expect professionalism, creativity with the activities that I do with your child, scheduled activities, regular updates and my specialty is creating age-appropriate educational activities that are incredibly fun and creative. My “final” skill is that I thoroughly enjoy making homemade organic baby food if needed and creating nutritious age-appropriate FUN meals for children. I am comfortable and enjoy children of all ages but I do have the most experience and professional training with infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. I am easily able to take care of multiple children of different age groups and love caring for infants and toddlers the most.
