Meet Naomi

Hello my name is Naomi Roach and I am currently a senior, history major and secondary education minor at Howard University. I mainly have experience babysitting my nephews when they were infants, up until now at the ages of ten and eleven. As well as this, I was a swim instructor for three years and primarily taught infants and children starting from the ages of five months to twelve years old. I enjoyed doing this because it allowed me the opportunity to learn first hand how to care for children while simultaneously introducing fun activities that will positively affect their cognitive abilities. Aside from this I have also volunteered as an assistant dance instructor for toddlers through highschool, tutored elementary and middle school students during my underclassmen years in college, and I am currently a student teacher for seventh grade social studies. As for certifications, I am certified in CPR Read more and First Aid. Personality- wise, I am passionate about dancing and enjoy doing artistic activities whether it is painting, listening to music, as well as being active. For instance, sometimes I like to create random songs with my friends, go to museums, and do game activities like laser tag, roller skating, etc to have fun while still being active. Being that I have worked with children in different aspects, I believe that I am a great caregiver because I truly enjoy being around children and believe that catering to them is important since they are the future of today’s society. As well as this, being that I have taught children in different forms and am currently studying to be a teacher, it has enabled me yo know how to be patient, kind, and understanding of children since they are still growing into their own personalities as I am too. Overall, I believe that I embody an excellent caregiver because I can bring a creative aspect to children through education and also fun.
