My name is Rachel and I'm 23 years old. In 2020 I completed a degree in Psychology and Human Development at the University at Albany. Through my studies I've learned a lot about child development and how to interact with kids of different ages effectively. I am currently working towards my Master’s in School Counseling at SUNY New Paltz. I have worked in childcare over the past 5 years. I have worked in 2 elementary schools before/after school as well as in a daycare setting where I worked with ages 4 mo - 12 years. I also have experience nannying and tutoring. In the Summer of 2020, I nannied for twin boys aged 6. During my time with this family, I worked about 20hrs/week. I was responsible for care of the children, preparing meals, running errands for the family, etc. Additionally, I nannied and tutored for another family from 2020-2022. Read more When I began working with this family the children were aged 9 and 15, now they are 11 and 17. My responsibilities included care of the children, preparing meals, tutoring in all subjects, running errands, grocery shopping, chauffeuring children wherever needed, etc. Currently, I provide occasional babysitting for a family with a 1 yo. I most frequently do date nights, so I am responsible for preparing and feeding dinner, cleanup after dinner, a bit of playtime, and then reading some books and putting her to bed. I see myself as creative, reliable, organized, patient, and responsible. I'm also very energetic and enjoy activities outside. I find working with kids to be not only rewarding but also something I am very good at.
