Meet Brianna

I have had many previous experiences that have significantly demonstrated my involvement in the health care system and my desire to help and serve others. I have had the wonderful experience of volunteering at nursing homes, daycares, and catering to the needs of elderly and young adolescent individuals. My involvement in volunteering at the senior living community has helped me to strengthen my communication and interpersonal skills which is highly beneficial in the health field because of provider to patient communication. It allowed me to learn and develop key organizational and coordination skills and assemble daily activities that sparked superb social interactions amongst the older individuals. That experience has actuated me to further pursue a career as a direct support professional for elderly and adolescent individuals that have physical and intellectual disabilities. Additionally, I also had the pleasure of babysitting children and other children with disabilities . This specific job role allowed to strengthen the quality of life for individuals and children and encouraging their own sense of independency. I had the opportunity to provide excellent and efficient care to individuals, amongst facilitating other diverse responsibilities. Overall, both experiences made me fall in love within assisting and providing exceptional care to these individuals and commit myself to help better the lives of others. My love for assisting individuals and children, providing comprehensive care and support to patients in need, and enhancing their quality of life has significantly increased my desire to work directly with disabled and elderly patients. I embarked on a journey into becoming a certified home health aide. In my curriculum I learned how to facilitate medical progression while strengthening the patient’s standards of health. The highlights of my training were providing supportive services through condition monitoring, meal preparation, supply replenishment, vital signs, personal hygiene assistance, maintaining detailed records of patient medical information, and collaborating with other caregivers. This improved my profound understanding in working to enrich the lives of elderly individuals facing the challenges of aging and declining medical conditions. I knew that working in the health care field was where I wanted to commit my ultimate duties to.
