Hi I’m Kayla. I’m 26 years old, and have always considered myself a caregiver. I have a natural sense of empathy and patience, especially for children. I have been providing childcare/babysitting services since I was 14 years old as a way to get some money for myself, while also having a blast working with kids. In high school and college, I frequently watched a family with three boys. Their ages ranged from infant to teenager in that time span. We would often have overnights as their parents had to travel for work sometimes. I have also babysat a number of other people through posted ads in college. I got experience in various approaches to childcare and communication, and always made sure to respect the methods in which a family wanted their child cared for. All dietary, emotional, educational, and even religious needs were adhered to. I also served as a Read more nanny to my niece from her birth to the age of five. I had a career change, which I am now switching again, and I am so excited to return to child care. Children are a joy to be around. I feel working with children is something you must be passionate about. They can test your patience, but they are complex people and deserve to be heard and cared for in their own unique way. Whether it’s helping with homework or changing a diaper, we have all been on the receiving end. We have all been that child. I always try to be the caregiver I would’ve wanted as a child.
