Hello! My name is Sophia. I am currently a substitute teacher for Buffalo Public schools, and I hold a BA in Health & Human Services with a concentration in Early Childhood Development. I am looking for extra work during the summer, and to make connections with families for the long term :) I have 10 years of experience in a wide variety of childcare settings, including: standard daycares, alternative daycare, public schools, after school programs, summer camps and day camps, private nannying, and babysitting. I have limited experience in special education settings, mostly through my work as a substitute for BPS. I have experience working with children from 6 weeks of age, all the way through young adults in their senior year of high school. What I am happy to do: -Cooking meals for the kids -Light cleaning and tidying, including washing any dishes used during the day -Light pet Read more care, like refilling their food or water bowl if it runs out -Projects with the kids like baking, arts and crafts projects, gardening, etc. -Diapering and potty training on your schedule -Full and half days -Walking with kids to nearby places like the park What I am not comfortable doing: -Laundry, except for laundry that is necessary over the course of the day with the kids (for example, a potty accident) -Involved pet care, such as scooping litter boxes or walking dogs -Special needs feeding routines requiring equipment (for example, a feeding tube) unless parents are in a work-from-home situation and available for questions or assistance -Transporting children in my personal vehicle I'm happy to answer any questions you may have about my background, and can provide references upon request.
