Children are the love of my life and over the years I’ve worked in full-time and part-time positions caring for them as a babysitter, daycare worker, Peace Corps children/family/youth specialist; as well as in more specialized roles as a behavioral technician with foster children, and a respite worker and manager with developmentally disabled children. I’m CPR + First Aid certified, and I have extensive experience with babies, toddlers, children and youth. I have a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a concentration in early childhood development, as well as a bachelor’s degree in communication. I have experience developing behavioral plans that utilize behavioral modification techniques with children. I’ve worked with middle-school aged kids as an Outward Bound instructor, with a focus on character development, and as an academic tutor and counselor in Upward Bound. I’m a native English speaker and fluent in Spanish. I’ve lived, worked, and traveled in several continents Read more and have refined cross-cultural sensitivities. I’m energetic, extremely active, kind, patient, and compassionate. I think it’s critical to cultivate children’s curiosities and imagination and to help them discover their passions and nourish their potential. I create deep bonds with children through play and am always happy to teach them new skills. When I’m not caring for kids, I make documentary films and am looking for part-time childcare work.
