Dear Parents My name is Felicia. I’m a 30 year old Graduate of Byram Hill High School, Pace University Graduate with Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature, and minor in Art, Current New York State Certified State Teaching Assistant , Former New York State Nursing Assistant, Formerly looking to get recerified in CPR and Aide. I have over six year experience working with children with special needs for Southern Westchester BOCES, Hawthorne Foundation, Westchester Arc, Accent Care, and Rosenthal JCC. I have cared for a number of children with various spectrum disorders, and medical concerns and I have enjoyed every moment of it. I'm currently a full-time teacher's assistant at John Coleman at Elizabeth Seton Pediatric center in Yonker's. My hours are 8am to 3:30pm. Therefore, I'm only looking for afternoon positions. I have a very strong work ethic. I believe that parents should have an idea of what goes on Read more with child(ren) when they’re at work. Therefore, I like to keep a notebook with my families for that reason. I take note of how many diapers and what they contain, how long children sleep, what they ate and general idea of how much if it’s baby food or solids. I also tell parents what we've done during our time together. On nice days I like to take children outside, to parks if we can, on walks, whatever fits my clients needs. If your child(ren) like music, I’ll play it, if they like to read, we’ll read together and I’ll ask them simple age appropriate questions to promote learning. I also encourage children to eat healthy and try new foods within their home, as long as they don’t have any food allergies. I will bake with child(ren) if they like, I will cook for child(ren) if parents want. I believe that went Mom and Dad are away it’s time for child(ren) to have fun with someone else.
