Happy New year!! I have been in child care for 30+ years. I have an ECE education, first aid and CPR. It has brought me great joy, laughter and happiness caring for children. I have cared for various ages from newborn to 12 years. I worked for a family on Cannon Air Force Bace for 21/2 years and owned an in-home preschool for 5 years. I provide fun safe activities like arts and crafts, picnics, reading, singing songs and building forts. Safety is number one when it comes to children. It's also important to me that there is good open communication with parents as to what their children's needs are. Shakuntala was our sitter for a school year, helping to get our girls to school in the morning. We both have to be to work very early in the morning, and the younger of the girls wasn't ready to be home alone in the mornings before school. Shakuntala is fantastic. She's reliable, always on time, and always let us know when there was a possibility that she would be late. The hours that she was here were early in the morning, and she made sure that she was here on time even through morning rush hour traffic. She was willing to work with us when we needed to change the days that we needed her to come in the mornings due to a schedule change at work, and when we had planned vacations. She's honest, trust worthy, and took really good care of the kids in the morning. We always felt like she was straight forward with us. The girls really enjoyed her being here with them before school, and have told us that they will miss her. We're very glad that we got the opportunity to get to know her over the course of the school year. If the girls were still younger, we would definitely ask her to come back to watch them next school year, but they are at the age now where they will be taking the bus to school and will not need someone to help them in the morning. We can't say enough good things about Shakuntala. She deserves a 5 star rating all the way.
