I'm a senior in high school (18) with 2 years of experience on and off babysitting a family of twin 6-year-old girls and their older brother with autism. I've also worked for 3 consecutive years as a summer camp counselor for kids ages 7-14. I am the child of 2 parents with full-time jobs so I know the positive influence babysitters can have for families! My current availability is any weekday after 3:30 pm as well as any time on weekends but it changes frequently because of my shifting school schedule. I also have no allergies (pet/foods/ect..). I believe that babysitting is an active job and every kid will have different needs. In the past, I've received compliments on my ability to engage and come up with fun activities with kids while simultaneously keeping the house clean, and getting other chores done. I grew up as a hyperactive kid with Read more undiagnosed ADHD and although I have since been diagnosed and treated, I like to think this allows me to empathize with kids who have similar struggles and are maybe seeking some coping strategies to add to their toolbox. Babysitting can be tricky and I know many who default to iPad/phone time or simply give in to every demand but I know my boundaries and I'm not afraid to encourage them to try new things! I'm a big believer in hands-on learning and healthy, honest communication. To me, babysitting is an opportunity to engage with kids, learn what they like, and help them to have experiences in a safe and controlled environment while their parents are away. I hold myself to a role model standard, only exhibiting behaviors that I know you--the parent--would want to see in them. I look forward to meeting you and your kiddos!
