Hi! My names Alysia. I am a 23 year old recent college graduate as of this past May. I received my bachelors degree in psychology with a minor in criminal justice. I have been babysitting since I was 16 and I currently work with children part time at the Ocean County YMCA. I have worked with children of all ages, the youngest I've worked with was 3 months and the oldest was 15 years old; but I've worked with all children in between. I love working with children because I'm highly interested in their development and watching them learn, but they always teach me something as well. My favorite activities to do with children include coloring because it promotes motor skills and creativity, pretend playing such as with action figures/barbies/any toy that they can use their imagination, games that make them think critically such as eye-spy, and watching educational tv Read more because it can promote speech development and listening skills. With my degree in psychology, I feel it has given me all the necessary knowledge and tools on how to best serve a child’s developmental needs.
