Hi, I am Andrea Gerlach. I am a college graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Literature with a minor in Philosophy. I am a writer and a part-time musician. I spent a lot of time when I was a teenager babysitting, and worked at an after school program with a martial arts studio at 19 years old. I do have a black belt in Tang Soo Do. Although experience is definitely important, I think passion is more so. Ever since I was 10 years old my most clear dream has been to be a mother. I have not had the honor yet, but taking care of other's children and helping them thrive through encouraging their creative spirits and never-ending curiosities has been incredibly rewarding. I have taken care of all age ranges from infants to teenagers. I never tire of their questions, and am not easily frustrated by their Read more antics. I have a very calm but stern demeanor with a playful spirit. I will do my best to encourage and give respect, as well as foster an environment for learning and trying new things. I can read to them, help them read, wrestle and teach self defense, draw, paint, and even write with them. Most of all, I will get to know them and hopefully they will get to know me.
