My name is Jeannie Gray. I currently live in Alton Bay, NH...more specifically on Alton Mountain. I recently moved here from Florida, after working in Maine for the summer season. Long story short, my friend was opening a boutique in Maine and offered me to work and stay with her for the summer and I jumped at the opportunity to escape the Florida heat which was wreaking havoc on my physical health. My original plan was to work through September but I fell in love with New England and decided to pack up my life and move north! I moved NH in October and I am loving every minute. I have worked in the medical field for the better part of 20 years, and have gone to school for medical, business, and equine health courses. I also worked in a teen-mother's foster care home as a house parent; mentoring and Read more teaching the girls, ages 12-18, to become better parents for their child(ren) I have had animals my entire life, having a menagerie of pets over the years including dogs, cats, horses, a sheep, hamsters, mice, rats, Guinea pigs, ferrets, and have hand-raised orphaned squirrels and kittens from as early as 1 day old. I have no problem administering medications or injections, and dressing wounds. I currently have 4 cats, 1 of which is a sphynx. I was a single parent who raised two kids, now 23 and 25, both with children of their own now. I also cared for my mother after her stroke in 2013 when she moved in with me shortly after hospital stays. She was mostly self-sufficient until the last two years when her mental and cognitive health began declining, making it hard for me to work outside the home. I left a job to care for her full time, but was very hard for me to manage my bills. She eventually moved into an assisted living facility which was able to give her the proper memory care she needed. That is when I made my move up north. The rest of my family is still in Florida and I visit as often as I can, and face time when I can't.
