Hello! My name is Laura Salerno. I am 21 years old and I have been nannying and babysitting for 6 years. I currently nanny for two of the sweetest little boys (ages 1.5 and 4) twice a week. In the past, I nannied two girls ages (6 and 9) during the summers while I was in high school. I have also babysat an infant boy and a 5 year old girl, as needed, for about four years. I was an athlete in high school and understand the importance of learning how to be a team player, getting in everyday exercise, and healthy eating. I have a car and a clean driving record and would be capable of any driving necessary. I have enjoyed every child I’ve worked with and have sought out numerous volunteer opportunities at camps designed for children with special needs. I am loving, compassionate, and kind. I work hard no matter the situation and work to listen and understand my wards. I like to find fun new activities for children to participate in whether that means spending time researching a new craft or game, or bringing my own board games from home just to give them a new opportunity. As for certifications and training, I was CPR certified through my high school health class. I have never formally taken a babysitting class, but instead was trained through real world experiences. As I began as a “crew leader” for a local VBS which was where I truly found how much I enjoyed working with children. However, that didn’t compare to the volunteer work I did with the Munroe Meyer summer camp (essentially a camp for children with physical and mental handicaps). This was one of the best experiences of my life and it brought me to the conclusion that working with children is definitely something I would like to incorporate into my future career.
