Welcome! My name is Nika and I am a disabled veteran now, having separated from Active Duty in 2020 and Reserves in 2023. After the Navy, I worked as a contractor with DoD, doing numerous things but was essentially a Systems Engineer, with light and simple IT experience. During my full time contracting job, I started college but eventually quit my full time job to focus on school. Living on the ship for two years was difficult, but eventually I babysat for a few of my fellow sailors and their families. Before the Navy, I was working two jobs (non - consecutively) and I moved out of my parents house during my senior year. Always having been independent and having a free spirit, I wanted to experience life my own way, make my own mistakes. As a child, I was always taking care of the younger children and even though Read more I was never able to babysit during my teen years, I have always had a passion for helping children learn and grow. I've worked with church groups in California, and even took care of a little boy with special needs. I do not have professional experience with special needs, but I can assure you I have a lot of patience. Being 31 years old, I have a lot of friends who have just given birth or have three to six month olds that I often watch. If you need any references, I have their names and numbers that I can personally send to you before you even consider hiring me. It's been a while since I have last looked at this profile, but I have worked as a babysitter for Anchor Church since 2017, who coincidentally found me through this site.
