Hey everyone! My name is Olivia, I am 22 years old and I have about 7 years of experience working with children from ages 1-12 as well as teens ages 13-17. I’ve been taking care of children and sitting since I was 14 years old. I am currently in college and working part time at a retail store. I hope to further my college journey, where I pursue a degree in social work and later on begin my very own nonprofit organization based on youth and art studies. Outside of work I enjoy spending quality time with my parents and siblings, as well as practicing art (painting) and some graphic design. Prior to nannying I worked as both an intern and mentor at a local art center in Cambridge, Massachusetts. There we worked in conjunction with MIT and local youth. Our mission was and still is to provide kids and Read more teens with the many new resources in their area so that they may gain more knowledge about their resources and even network with their community. I also spent some time working with Raleigh Parks and Recreation. There I played a similar role as I did in Boston. Our main focus at Parks and Rec is to plan activities and events for our youth to participate in here in Raleigh. Working with youth is truly one of the most rewarding feelings I have ever experienced. I understand that every kid is not that same, that being said I do my very best in connecting with each child individually. I have honestly made strong connections with all I have mentored and I am proud to say that many of them look up to me.
