Hello! My name is Dash (he/him) and I am so excited to meet you and your family! This site requires I use my legal name, but I go by Dash and am a trans man. I have over a decade of experience as a nanny and early childhood educator. I have worked as a private nanny to multiple families, an infant and toddler care specialist in daycares, an early learning educator in early childhood education facilities, and as a behavior specialist. My bachelors degree is in Child and Family Development, and I am a third of the way through my master’s program in early childhood education administration, management, and leadership. Before I began my path in child care and education, I provided physical security while in the military. My areas of experience include all age groups, although heavily focused on birth-five. I have experience both personally and professionally with various Read more special needs and medical conditions. I also spent several years as a foster parent, fostering more than twenty children with a wide variety of needs. I also have 9 kids of my own. When it comes to early childhood education, I take a progressive holistic approach that combines Reggio and Montessori methods, pulling from other pedagogy as well. Time spent outdoors exploring and connecting with the community are important to me. My personal early childhood education philosophy is that children are natural-born learners who learn through instinctive play and everyday experiences. My teaching style focuses on providing an environment that promotes a child-led exploratory learning process, with gentle guidance to encourage a life-long love of learning, while observing and enabling developmental growth. The ultimate goal should be to ensure that children are happy, loved, and have a solid foundation in the primary areas of development that continues to be built upon throughout their entire lives. I also believe it is important to introduce concepts such as environmental awareness, science and technology, self-care, empathy and inclusion, community connection, diversity, and an appreciation of different cultures at an early age in preparation to become global citizens. I would love to hear more about how I can meet your family’s needs. If you are searching for an experienced, educated, and authentic babysitter/nanny/early childhood education provider, please send me a message.
