I started babysitting when I was 16 years old. I babysat for a family friend who has 4 children. I started watching their 3rd child when he was 6 months old, I watched him on date nights and even watched him for a weekend while his parents went on a trip out of state. I took a break from babysitting while the mother was pregnant with the 4th child and started watching the younger 2 when the youngest was 1 month old. Mostly date nights, also went on a week vacation with the family. 2006-2010 I was as a nanny for a college professor for a semester in 2010. I worked at 3 separate childcare facilities, mostly in the infant rooms but have experience with infants to school age. 2013-2015 I also babysat for a few of the families from daycare outside of work for date nights. 2013-2016 I have Read more 3 younger siblings who are currently 19, 17 and 14 and I am 28, there is a big age difference, so I helped my parents with them as well. I started babysitting because I enjoy working with kids and figured I should get paid to do it. But it turned into a true passion of mine. I absolutely love watching the infants grow, learn and meet milestones! I truly enjoy the work and although sometimes it can be stressful seeing their smiling faces and knowing I have an intricate part in helping them grow into successful, compassionate human beings makes the stress melt away. I did take an semester of Early Childhood Education classes in 2010 (I think) but the school wasn't the right fit and I wasn't exactly sure I wanted to be a teacher since I didn't have experience in a daycare center, just babysitting. Been tossing around the idea of going back for a degree around, we'll see.
