Hello! My name is Alyssa but I prefer being called Al in a casual manner. I’m turning 21 on October 8th and am currently a full-time student over at GTCC (Guilford Technology Community College) majoring with an associate in English. There, I also help out a lot with the Astronomy Elective branch of things and would be very interested in working with kids about both astronomy and English as a side thing! My hope is to become a teacher and eventually a professor. I’d like to teach English outside of the country in countries that need the most English teaching help, and I’d also like to become an astronomy professor so I can study the thing I love most—cosmology. I’ve always loved teaching and working with children. I am huge in psychology, so with them is a learning experience every day. I like to help teach morality (supported by and Read more subjective to the families I help with) and overall be a healthy role model. Whereas my history is less with working with children and more with working with older crews (unless mentioning me helping out with 2-year-olds and younger with voluntary babysitting & mentioning watching over my now 12-year-old niece and 7-year-old nephew), it surely is not subjective to just that. With the kids, I’d be happy to: • Tutoring (good at all subjects as long as the content is provided) • Watch over the night at the respective households • Do household or park/neighborhood/event activities • Clean up after and cater to • Cook/bake/make tea (I am a huge tea fanatic) • Astronomy-related activities (I have a telescope!) • Anything else needed/required by families I’ll do my best to be there and square, along with the occasional dad jokes.
