Hi! I'm Kayla and I go by Dani :) I'm 24 years old and while most of my work experience is in retail management I recently discovered that guiding children is what I'm passionate about. I've been babysitting on and off for a few years and most of my experience is with toddlers and children! I follow the 'gentle parenting' approach and practice Montessori guiding. I am not AMI certified yet but am very interested in doing so. While babysitting/nannying I like to encourage motor skills, speech skills, and helping the child understand the emotions they're feeling and healthy ways to deal with them. In my free time I like to crochet, read, play games on my computer/switch and go antiquing :)

Kayla watched my son from 15-20 months old in early 2023. She was wonderful and I would have loved to continue having her watch him but we moved away. Kayla always came to our home on time, cheerful, and ready to engage with my son. She is intelligent, kind, observant, and a good listener. I would mention something I was thinking of doing with my son and she tried to find ways to implement that without explicit instruction. My son loved seeing her in the mornings; I work from home and he never cried or needed me if he happened to see me while she was with him. Kayla always followed direction on day structure, meal/snack times, and naps. She cleaned up my son’s dishes, got snack and lunch ready and if he showed interest had him help her, she folded and put his laundry away, and cleaned up any toys before she left, as well as having him help her throughout the day with putting toys away. My son had a slight speech delay and started going to speech therapy around the time Kayla started. I showed Kayla the packet that was given to me during speech and she started implementing it right away. She read to him, reinforced language at every opportunity, and helped him get back on track. His language has exploded in recent weeks and we were able to stop speech after 16 weeks and have no doubt a major reason for that is because of Kayla. By hiring Kayla, you can be assured that you will get someone who engages and nurtures your child, not someone who lounges around while your children fend for themselves. I can’t recommend Kayla’s services enough to families in need of a hard-working, honest, and caring caregiver.
